This is a lovely example of an M1917 Bolo made by KIFFE, a Japanese based company in the early 1960s. According to retired employees, the company had a very large quantity of the WWI M1917 bolo scabbards and had trouble selling the scabbards without a knife. In order to boost sales, the company had the bolos made in Japan to match with the scabbards. These bolos were near exact copies but had black plastic grip
